ARS ELECTRONICA ARCHIVE – AI LAB

The European ARTificial Intelligence Lab (AI Lab) is a follow-up project to the European Digital Art and Science Network, a creative collaboration between scientific institutions, Ars Electronica and cultural partners throughout Europe that unites science and digital art. The European ARTificial Intelligence Lab follows on from this and addresses visions, expectations and fears that we associate with artificial intelligence. The consortium consists of 13 cultural institutions from Europe with Ars Electronica as coordinator. This online archive provides an overview of all activities carried out during the project's lifetime from 2018 to 2021. It also provides information about the network itself, the residency artists and juries, and the project partners involved. The AI Lab is co-funded by the EU program "Creative Europe (2014-2020)" and by the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Civil Service and Sport.

The Center for the Promotion of Science (CPN) in Serbia is a public institution established in 2010 with the task to promote science and technology. The Center, according to its mandate, cooperates with research and educational institutions (universities, research centers and schools) in Serbia and worldwide. The CPN’s mission is to bridge the gap between science and society by bringing together researchers, educators, artists, policy makers, civil society organizations, business and industry and the general public in the process of research and innovation. The ultimate aim is to influence and adapt the general research agendas to reflect the needs of the society and to address societal challenges engaging all actors involved in the process. In following years, the focus will be put on climate changes and artificial intelligence as two most relevant scientific and societal issues and topics nowadays. The Center organizes a large number of exhibitions, lectures, panel discussions and other events on different STE(A)M topics and subjects (mathematics, physics, robotics, archeology, psychology, genetics, biology, architecture etc.). CPN was involved in 31 European collaborations since 2012, while it’s currently part of seven H2020, one Creative Europe and four Erasmus+ projects, and two additional COST actions.

Centre for the promotion of science (RS): Promotion of science is one of the major tasks for every European country. In this field, the Centre for the Promotion of Science (RS) is already actively engaged in bringing science community closer to a larger public, with the ambition to become the top institution that binds together, provides help and supports all science popularization organizations and initiatives throughout Serbia. Special attention is given to the cooperation with scientific institutions – the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in the first place, but also with leading scientific institutes and all universities in the country.

Das Center for the Promotion of Science (CPN) in Serbien ist eine öffentliche Einrichtung, die 2010 mit dem Ziel gegründet wurde, Wissenschaft und Technologie zu fördern. Das Zentrum arbeitet mit Forschungs- und Bildungseinrichtungen (Universitäten, Forschungszentren und Schulen) in Serbien und weltweit zusammen. Die Mission des CPN ist es, die Lücke zwischen Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft zu schließen, indem es ForscherInnen, PädagogInnen, KünstlerInnen, politische EntscheidungsträgerInnen, zivilgesellschaftliche Organisationen, Wirtschaft und Industrie sowie die breite Öffentlichkeit im Prozess von Forschung und Innovation zusammenbringt. Oberstes Ziel ist es, die allgemeinen Forschungsagenden mitzugestalten und anzupassen, um den Bedürfnissen der Gesellschaft gerecht zu werden und gesellschaftliche Herausforderungen anzugehen, die alle am Prozess beteiligten Akteure einbeziehen. In den folgenden Jahren wird der Fokus auf Klimawandel und künstliche Intelligenz als zwei der wichtigsten wissenschaftlichen und gesellschaftlichen Themen der Gegenwart liegen. Das Zentrum organisiert eine Vielzahl von Ausstellungen, Vorträgen, Podiumsdiskussionen und anderen Veranstaltungen zu verschiedenen STE(A)M-Themen (Mathematik, Physik, Robotik, Archäologie, Psychologie, Genetik, Biologie, Architektur usw.). CPN war seit 2012 an 31 europäischen Kooperationen beteiligt, während es derzeit an sieben H2020-, einem Creative Europe- und vier Erasmus+-Projekten sowie zwei weiteren COST-Aktionen beteiligt ist.
