Description

IMPETUS Demo Day reinvents the classic startup pitch event to spotlight citizen science initiatives (CSIs) working on urgent societal and environmental challenges. As part of the IMPETUS Accelerator, selected projects from the 2024 cohort will present their achievements in areas such as biodiversity, health, and accessibility.
Unlike traditional demo days aimed at investors, this interactive format invites the audience to role-play as stakeholders—scientists, policymakers, journalists—engaging directly with the CSIs through questions, feedback, and symbolic “investments.” This experience supports CSIs in refining their communication, building networks, and exploring new forms of collaboration.
By aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the European Green Deal, IMPETUS Demo Day emphasizes the power of citizen-driven innovation to create meaningful and lasting impact. It is a space to celebrate grassroots science, foster cross-sector dialogue, and imagine how collaborative solutions can address global challenges.
