The Print Archive of Ars Electronica covers publications since 1979 in the fields of Cyber Arts/Prix, Festival and special publications and as well as the audio-visual supplements, museum brochures, updates and special publications. All text and articles are searchable and readable. The festival catalogues are since 2000 in the original layout as PDFs, for the preceding years, only the OCR text information was preserved but they are also readable. CyberArts catalogues are complete PDFs, catalogues before 2005 were physically digitised, as the print data no longer exists.

7 Seiten: Der heutige Spatenstich betrifft einen überaus traditionsreichen Platz in unserer Stadt. Das Ars Electronica Center setzt nicht nur einen Abschluß zum Donautor, sondern besetzt mit dem Daonautor den Brückenkopf in Urfahr, einen innovationsreichen Stadtteil. In Urfahr führte die erste Pferdeeisenbahn über die Donau, in Urfahr wurde die steilste Adhäsionsbahn, die Pöstlingbergbahn, in ganz Europa gebaut, hier rund um den Brückenkopf in Urfahr war eine der traditionsreichsten Handelsplätze, am Platzl, an dem sich die Handels und Kaufleute aus Nord und Süd, aus Europa, aus der Welt trafen. - Auf dem Markt, auf dem Platzl oder im Wirtshaus zur Brücke. 1993 - 1493: blenden wir 5 00 Jahre zurück: Gerade in diesem Jahr wehrten sich die Urfahraner aufs heftigste gegen den Bau einer Brücke, gegen eine technische Innovation. Bis dahin stand nämlich Urfahr das Überfuhrrecht zu, und, wie Sie wissen, der Name Urfahr kommt von Überfuhr.
