Glücklich auf dem Weg nach unten/Happy Going South
Hanna Hartman
“Glücklich auf dem Weg nach unten / Happy Going South” is a solo performance with amplified objects. Threaded rods of different lengths (3x2 meters and 6x1 meters) and material (stainless steel, brass) are amplified through Schertler contact microphones attached to small double flowerpots (also a kind of analog filter) and played with washers in different sizes and material. The toy “Klopfspecht” (tapping woodpecker) has been separated from its original and now plays on amplified stainless steel bars, which like the threaded rods have varying frequencies. Big flowerpots are also amplified with a contact microphone and played with thin steel knives.
“Glucklich auf dem Weg nach unten/Happy Going South”, by Hanna Hartman was premiered at Raum für Kultur, Dresdener Bank, Frankfurt am Main curated by Oliver Augst. The DVD was filmed and edited by Teresa Iten 2009/2010 and produced in cooperation with the Swedish Music Information Center. Recorded at Kule Berlin.
