The Second Form of That - Ars Controlada
Udo Hanten
My entry "Ars Controlada" describes the continuing commercialization and control of music in our present-day society in a computer-acoustical way. Archaic sound structures evoke feelings that shall remind of the cultural heritage of a people. (U. Hanten)

As assistant of the laser-artist Horst H. Baumann, Udo Hanten worked at the “Klangwolke” laser Events in 1985 and 1986 in Linz and Sarajevo. This activity encouraged him to go his own ways with laser systems. Hanten's cooperation with industrial enterprises (e.g. with Microsoft and BMW Austria) calls for attention. 1987 his laser-musicdance performance for Karl Lagerfeld was premiered at Berlin's “Theater des Westens”. Open-air-performances soon followed, as well as a three-days Laser Symphony. At present, Udo Hanten is working at his next LP and at a Light Symphony for the Düsseldorf 7th Centenary event.
