The Attitude comp has got a lot of just what it says: attitude! The ubiquitous kid606 rounded up some like-minded electronic terrorists to lace this little 3 inch CD with laptop per-versions of gangsta type rap tunes from the styles of Dr. Dre, NWA and other suspects. Fragments of hip hop hardcore are “covered” here by the likes of Hrvatski, Dat Politics, Matmos, Pimmon, V/VM, Electric Company, Christoph de Babalon, Cex, J Lesser, and kid 606 himself, among others. The material is manic, ridiculous and sounds like demented desecration, but is clearly meant as a twisted tribute to the gangsta pioneers. These unofficial remixes spark a near catastrophic readjustment to the common spine bump of rap beats and voice which has conditioned masses worldwide to expectations of the hip hop experience. This deconstruction will add to the permanent altercation of these preconceptions. As many from the Tigerbeat6 clan of conspirators contributed to this slaughter rap fest, one is left to wonder what would happen if these firebrands confronted the live audiences who frequent the gangsta ghetto circuit. A dangerous and new kind of kick, exceptional in range and rugged in its interior?

Since he founded it in early 2000, the Kid has moved towards establishing Tigerbeat6 as a top purveyor of the offbeat side of electronic music with releases such as a three-inch CD tribute to N.W.A. look for lots to come out in the future.
