Polygon Family: Episode 2

Hiroshi Chida

This short animation piece was produced for TV ASAHI, as part of a late-night news/variety program, based on characters screened at SIGGRAPH 98 (Electronic Theater). A cynical jab at today s Japanese salarymen , struggling at home as well as at work, it takes limited CG animation to a new level. In this case it is amazing, how the techno beat blends in with the black-and-white imagery.
Hiroshi Chida (J), born 1968, is director at Polygon Pictures Inc. He was also the episode director for ”Mr. Digital Tokoro” (2001, TV series). He has been awarded a “Finalist Award” at the New York Festivals and a “Golden Camera Award” at the U.S. International Video & Film Festival.
