Remind me

H5, Ludovic Houplain, Hervé de Crecy
The video for to album Remind Me of the Norvegion band Röyksopp is made exclusively with graphics that are part of the common currency of daily life – from aircraft safety instructions to magazine and newspaper graphics. It tells the story of an ordinary person’s life working in the City in London. Each shot of the video is conceived as a technical illustration of a phenomenon, statistic or notice. The whole environment of the character – a 30 year-old woman working in the financial district of London – is thus detailed, from the wake-up time to the 6 o’clock beer at the end of the working day. Each shot follows a pure explanatory logic, illustrated by a succession of animated graphs, charts, diagrams and maps.

H5 (F) is a graphic studio essentially dedicated to the music domain, specifically to the labels and the groups of the French Touch. The H5 crew were at the beginning, Ludovic Houplain and Antoine Bardou Jaquet, both of them former students of ESAG (Paris Superior School in Graphic Art). Later Hervé de Crécy joined in. Since 1999 H5 has moved into video: at first, the Alex Gopher video clip, followed by two commercials for Vodafone and Bank of Scotland. They have a great reputation for their sleeve designs for Alex Gopher and Super Discount, and the music videos for Alex Gopher entitled The Child. The latter represented the whole city with only typography and is excellent with innovative style and quality.
