Rollin' Safari

Anna Habermehl, Constantin Paeplow, Kyra Buschor
_Rollin’ Safari_ is a series of four short clips about bloated African animals that have huge difficulty living a normal life. The clips are a student project created by Constantin Paeplow, Kyra Buschor and Anna Habermehl and produced by Valentina Brüning and Anna Habermehl as trailers for the 2013 International Festival of Animated Film in Stuttgart.

Kyra and Constantin started brainstorming in October 2011, their initial idea being to tell the story of a hunter who comes across a fat, rolling deer that, because of its shape, is incapable of controlling itself. They imagined what a wildlife documentary would be like if all animals in it were round and what scenarios might occur. In November 2011 Anna Habermehl joined the team as the third director and together they decided to produce several funny clips of various round animals. The directors’ biggest inspiration was numerous popular wildlife documentaries as _Our Planet_, _Planet Earth_ or Grzimek’s _Serengeti Shall Not Die_.
