_MeTube_, a homage to thousands of ambitious YouTube users and video bloggers, gifted and less gifted self-promoters on the Internet, has attracted international attention. No less than George Bizet’s _Habanera_ from _Carmen_ has been reinterpreted for _MeTube_ and enhanced with electronic sounds. Behind the cross-over of musical styles are director Daniel Moshel as well as opera and oratorio tenor August Schram. Given Schram’s fondness for oscillating between singing, art and new media, the film expert and the opera singer have merged their efforts. The result: a fusion of new media, classical opera singing interpreted in a modern manner and artistic, ingenious self-promotion laced with a dose of self-mockery.
