Interpretation of Casa Mila from Antoni Gaudi into Architectural Space for Virtual Reality

Markéta Gebrian
My goal was to design my interpretation of the real site and architecture. I spend three months in Barcelona ETSAB school of Architecture. I choose the site near Passeig de Gracia with the building Casa Mila from Antoni Gaudi. I used the information from reality and transformed them into architectural and artistic space for virtual reality. I worked with NEOS VR and I tested the complicated shapes in a static environment in this social VR platform. NEOS VR is accessible for free online. Anyone can create an account in NEOS VR and import 3D models there or design directly own world and virtual environments. My challenge was to explore different textures on organic shapes that in normal life we don't have a chance to experience. We usually don’t fly in spaces without floors and roofs, spaces without gravity. I tried to interpret and reinvent a new type of spaces: Architectural and Artistic Spaces for Virtual Reality. My floating structure can behave like an interactive VR environment where avatars can meet, interact, communicate in NEOS VR.
