DIGI-Profis der MS Schärding: Digitale Unterstützung für die Schulgemeinschaft
Together with their teachers Daniel Pretzl, Daniela Pöschl, and Maria Theresia Luckeneder, 15 students proved themselves to be true DIGI-Pros. Throughout the school year, they worked on integrating newly acquired tablets into the school’s administrative system and supported their first-grade peers as mentors, helping them use the devices and applications safely and correctly. The jury highlighted the successful peer learning within the school community as well as the responsible use of digital media.
The "Digital Learning" special prize is provided by OeAD.

Mittelschule Schärding, Daniel Pretzl, Daniela Pöschl und Maria Theresia Luckeneder
Daniel Pretzl leads the project and is also a teacher, iPad administrator and class teacher of the 4a class.
Daniela Pöschl is the deputy head of the Schärding secondary school and also works as a teacher.
Maria Theresia Luckeneder is the head of the APS cluster Schärding (elementary school, middle school, general special school and polytechnic school).
The project is supported by 15 pupils from the 4a class (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011), who come from 8 different nations.
The “Digital Learning” special prize could not have been better fulfilled than with this project. The approach is low-threshold with a big impact. “Peer to peer” learning is nothing new, but in this combination with the roll-out of the device initiative, it is a win-win situation for the pupils in 5th grade and for the teachers responsible. The fact that “The DIGI Professionals” explained the safe use of the devices to the first graders with a great deal of patience and empathy was also key to the award. They were available at all times to answer questions and help with any uncertainties. They not only provided technical support, but also acted as important role models by teaching the responsible use of digital media.
In this way, the more experienced higher grades can be an important support for the 5th grade, not only by helping them with the devices, but also by supporting them as a contact person when they start a new school with all the new impressions and challenges.
