The Future School
Deutsch

The school system:
The children receive a list that they can work through freely within a week. The idea is that the children should manage their own time and tasks. They receive points for their achievements and efforts, which are then used to calculate a grade at the end of the year.
The model:
Leopold built the model out of wood and equipped it with 3D-printed parts. It is divided into several floors and rooms to stimulate the students' creativity. In addition to the regular core subjects, there is also a trampoline park, a common room, and a creative workshop that combines art, crafts, and 3D printing.

The approach of rethinking and redesigning schools as important living spaces is considered highly compelling and relevant. The intensive and critically reflective examination of how schools can be designed in the future is a key strength of The Future School.
The model is particularly convincing due to its concept of using the building as an open space for learning, research, and creative work, thereby fostering independence, autonomy, collaboration, and flexible structuring of daily school life, all made possible by a new spatial concept. These aspects are considered forward-looking and well-conceived. The project has therefore been awarded the u14 Honorary Mention.
