Description
During the Ars Electronica Festival 2020 Pianist Maki Namekawa was back with Cori O’Lan in Deep Space for another concert of contemporary piano music, accompanied by stunning realtime visualisations. Philip Glass’ trusted pianist Maki Namekawa – who has premiered several of his piano pieces – performed the piano solo piece “Passacaglia” in its Austrian premiere and other great compositions.

Programme:
Philip Glass: “Distant Figure” – A Passacaglia (Austrian Premiere)
Elliot Goldenthal: Gigue Diabolique
Joop Beving: Ab Ovo, Midwayer, Hanging D

Want to hear more beautiful piano pieces, as interpreted by Maki Namekawa? She's a frequent guest at Ars Electronica Home Delivery and has performed many times for us, even during the COVID-19 lockdown to keep our spirits up, along with conductor and pianist Dennis Russell Davies.
