Love & Theft
Andreas Hykade
The film “Love & Theft” was created out of the sheer joy of animation. The permanent change in the characters is intended to create continuous bafflement, yet leaving ample room for the audience’s imagination.
The movie was realized without script nor concept, just through the process of realization. It seemed important to keep my own personality completely outside the work by just expressing myself through my ancestors in art.
Technically, everything was realized in classical cartoon animation, because only in that medium is permanent transformation possible by relatively simple means. In other words: there is nowhere where cheating is so easy as in animated cartoons.
